Plus Size OOTD: Accessorizing for Fall

While I am not a major fan of cooler weather, I am a fan of cute cold weather accessories! I love mixing and matching different accessories to create new fall looks. They are stylish and keep me warm, so it's a win-win. One of my fave ways to style outfits during the colder seasons is to start with a basic, all black canvas and color it in with my fave accessories.

For this look, I chose my fave black leggings, a black tank and black cardigan- super basic! It's also very comfortable, and that is totally important to me.

To complete a fall outfit, I like to add accessories in different colors, textures, prints and patterns. I love playing around with different scarves, boots, hats and bags. A cute colorful coat can liven up a look too. It's so much fun to switch things up to make casual looks or dressy looks, and to try styling different color combos.

For this look, I added some contrasting colors that really stand out against the black outfit. I added brown leather riding boots, a brown felt hat, a bold red bag and a beautiful plaid infinity scarf.

Plus Size OOTD: Red, Black and Floral

This is basically my fall/winter uniform lol. I wear a lot of the same styles, just in different colors, textures and patterns. I love wearing skirts and dresses, and when it gets a little colder I just add leggings and boots to help me stay warm. Then I just add a coat and beret to complete my usual look. My winter wardrobe is the only thing that keeps me going on these cold days. I really just want to hibernate, but if I must go out, then getting to wear things that make me happy make the days so much better!

Plus Size OOTD: Featuring X-Two and Flutter

In my most recent Gwynnie Bee shipment I was lucky enough to get these two pieces that just happen to go together perfectly! I love this fun, feminine, floral skater style dress from Flutter.  I think it looks great paired with the X-Two biker style jacket. The jacket is a soft blue faux leather, and I love the way it looks against the floral dress. It also adds a little bit of edge to the look, along with the black tights and black ankle boots.

These H&M boots are my faves. I love the buckles and the chunky heel. They are super comfortable and very easy to get on and off thanks to the back zippers. I like wearing them with both dressy and casual looks.

Finally, about the bag...it was love at first sight when I saw it. It's one of the pieces in the new limited edition collection at Target. It's so pretty and the details are just amazing! I love the design, the gold hardware and the quilted top flap. So cute! I really loved how it looked with the blue jacket and multicolor dress.

Fashion Must-Have: The Perfect Tank + My OOTD

I probably own black tank tops from just about every plus size store that I frequently shop from. I have an entire drawer of them. Why so many? Well, it's actually very difficult to find a good one. Who knew a basic wardrobe staple could be so difficult? Many seem to be way to short and not give the coverage I desire, or they far too long and bunch up under my clothing when trying to layer them.  Why can't they just be a good length and stay in place?

Another major issue is the material many brands and designers choose. Some stretch out so easily after wearing, but they do not easily return to their original shape. Other do not stretch enough and just feel way too tight. Many times the material is just way too thin and I can see right through it...that means I have to layer another tank with that tank if I want to wear it out. ugh!

However, I think the search is finally over. I think I found "the one". So exciting! I tried my very first SkinnyTees "And A Little More" tank. Craziest thing about this tank...it fits perfectly, yet only comes in one size. It feels like the perfect fit each time I wear it. It feels like it was custom made just for me. I'm pretty sure this is The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants of tank tops. My mind is blown!
When my tank arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at the cute packaging and the great little extras they included to help me to care for my tank. My package included detergent, a laundry care bag and a super cute Skinnytees reusable shopping bag. Too cute!

Since its arrival, I have been wearing the tank in different ways to get a really good feel for the quality and abilities of it. Yesterday, I wore it to the park for an afternoon walk with my husband.

Even with all that walking we did- climbing hills and all- this tank stayed in place. How does that even happen? This tank is seriously a miracle.

When I was looking through the photos we took at the park, I noticed that the tank stayed in place and smooth the entire time. No bunching, no riding up, no stretched out fabric. It was just there with a great smooth silhouette.  I was completely surprised that this top maintained such an amazing appearance.

This tank is super comfortable and super easy to style. It's easy to layer with other pieces during the cool months. It will also look great on it's own during the warm months. The straps are perfect for wearing your fave bra with the tank, you don't have to worry with an annoying strapless bra or constantly monitor the bra strap situation while praying that your bra straps stay in place.

For this look, I paired it with a new BB Dakota from Gwynnie Bee coat and some skinny pants. The length is great for wearing with pants. It doesn't feel too short or too long.  The coat is a new addition to my life also. I just received it, and the tank seemed to compliment it perfectly.

Here are a couple more pics of the coat (I'm obsessed!):

Styled: Jessica London Lace Sleeve Blouse

When it comes to wardrobe staples, I need something unique, something that feels fresh and modern, but still has the function and versatility of a traditional staple. I love wardrobe staples with a twist. I love prints, patterns, textures and unexpected details. While a classic white button-up shirt doesn't excite me, a more stylish approach like this lace sleeve blouse from Jessica London gives me that same vibe without feeling so plain.

This blouse has a similar structure to the traditional button-up, but it has so many unique details and features that really bring it to life. The lace sleeves give the top a chic, romantic feel, and also give me that texture and pattern detail that I love. The versatility of the lace makes this top a great option for work or going out.

Instead of buttoning all the way down, this blouse has four hidden snaps at the top that give a smooth, polished look.  If you wanted to try a vest or sweater over this top, you won't have to worry about those pesky buttons poking out and showing. It's a very clean design.

The length of this top makes it great for pairing with so many different types of bottoms. Leggings, skirts and jeans would all work perfectly. This is fabulous little wardrobe staple is the perfect canvas for creating your style vision. It really helps accessories to pop and liven up your look.

I have been playing dress-up with this blouse this weekend and trying out all the different ways I can think to add it in with my existing wardrobe. Here are four of my fave ways to style this gorgeous lace sleeve blouse:

1. Glam

2. Casual

3. Comfort

4.  Dressy comfort

There are so many great ways to style this top, and I am sure I will think of more that fit in with my wardrobe and style!

OOTD & Review: IGIGI Luxe Elegance Collection

My love affair with IGIGI dresses has been going strong for quite some time now because honestly, nothing compares. However, I had never stepped out of what I will call- my IGIGI comfort zone- until recently. I have been really curious about trying some of the separates, and the Louise jacket in Lattice Noir was just the thing to make me take the plunge and try some amazing new styles.

When I saw Louise, it was love at first sight, and sometimes I still just sit and stare at her because she is just that beautiful to me. I am so drawn to the black and white graphic print, and I think the round neckline, faux leather accents and gold zipper are just so modern and luxe. This jacket is beautiful and comfortable too. It even fit comfortably around my arms, which is usually a problem area when it comes to me and jackets. Tight sleeves can be so miserable, but I didn't have to deal with that when I tried this jacket on. It was roomy enough for my arms to fit and move around comfortably. I was also excited that the sleeve length and jacket length were perfect for me without having to have alterations. So awesome!

I decided to make the Louise jacket one of the main focal points of my outfit, so I chose a black top and black leggings to accompany it. The top I wore is the gorgeous Kloey peplum top. This versatile top will be one of my wardrobe staples from now on. It can be dressed up or worn on a casual day. The design is great, and I love the length of it. One of my main gripes about peplum tops in general is that they seem too short sometimes, but the Kloey top is the perfect length. It would be great with leggings, pants or a skirt. It has such a beautiful flow to it, plus it's one of the most comfortable tops I have ever worn.

I paired the jacket and the top with the Karyn ponte leggings. I love leggings, and I have countless pairs of them. However, the Karyn leggings were completely different from any leggings I have ever owned. These are not your average leggings, these are so much more amazing. These ponte leggings are great because they are thicker than other leggings and they keep their shape. They also have seaming in down the center that I love. A surprising favorite was the waistband of these leggings. They have an incredibly comfortable elastic waistband that is wider than what I have seen on other leggings, and it makes such a difference. It really helps add to the comfort and fit of the leggings. These leggings are one of those items that I think, what did I ever do without you? They are everything!

This outfit was perfect for a cool fall day walking around downtown. It felt as comfortable as some of my favorite loungewear, but looked very polished and modern. Those are my fave kind of looks because comfort and style are both very important to me. I can't wait to style all of three of these pieces in different ways all season long!
