Where to Shop for Wide Calf Boots

I love boot season! I have been doing some browsing/shopping for new boots online and in store, and I must say I have been soooo surprised by how many retailers are FINALLY carrying wide calf boots! From Walmart and Payless to Naturalizer and Bloomingdale's, I have been able to find wide calf boots all over the place. This is so exciting because I've always had trouble finding great boots that fit my wider calves. I thought I would share with you guys some tips for shopping for the perfect wide calf boots, and also, provide a list filled with retailers who are currently selling wide calf boots. Check it out:

How to shop for wide calf boots:
  • Measure the widest part of the calf. (Measure both legs to help get an accurate size.)
  • Also, note whether or not you have wide width feet too.
  • When shopping, always be aware of the difference between wide width and wide calf. Wide width refers to the foot, and wide calf refers to the leg.
  • When checking websites, ALWAYS look for size measurement descriptions or size charts to help determine if the boot will fit you.
  • Before going to the store, check online to see what wide calf boots they have available, and what sizes they fit. This can save some frustration if you know ahead of time what will fit and what won't.

OR Try these ideas:
  • Some sites sell extra wide and super wide calf boots.
  • If you still have no luck, you may want to try getting a custom made pair of boots to fit you perfectly. These may be pricier, but they are usually so well made. They are sure to fit like glove, so they are definitely well worth it.
  • A more affordable option for custom made boots may be purchasing a pair of boots that you like and having extra panels or elastic/stretchy panels sewn into the boot so that it will fit.

Back-to-School Style: 9 fall trends I'm obsessed with at Ross Dress for Less + A Giveaway!

Hi guys! I know some of you have been sending me messages about back-to-school/fall shopping, so I hope you will enjoy this post! One of my fave discount retailers is Ross Dress for Less, so I thought I would go take a peak at what kind of trends they have for fall and back-to-school. I was totally surprised by how many pieces I loved and wanted to take home with me. Of course, I had to narrow it down to only a few pieces to purchases, but that didn't stop me from taking photos of some of the other trends and styles I was drooling over. Check out some of my fave pieces from my last visit!

1.The Cross Trend:
This style has been everywhere, and I couldn't believe that they had it at Ross, and it's plus size! How awesome is that. It was so comfy, roomy, affordable and perfect for fall.

2. Varsity Jacket
I spotted this cute red and black varsity jacket while I was looking at dresses. This would look so cute with a black dress, maxi skirt, circle skirt or jeans.

3. Graphic sweaters/sweatshirts:
I love this! The bold color and the LOVE graphic are so great. I think this would look so amazing with a black skirt or skinny jeans.

4. Prints everywhere!
I love printed leggings so much. From graphic prints with lots of color and text to stripes and polka dots, I want them all. I spotted these on the way to the dressing room. I am also obsessed with the polka dot tops beside them on the racks.

5. The denim vest
It has been a staple all summer, so why not take it into the fall, right? This one ended up coming home with me, of course!

6. Animal print
Animal print is everywhere. I tried this super cute animal print top on, and I loved it. It has mesh at the top and gold studded accents. It would look adorable with a skirt, jeans or leggings.

7. It's all about the boots!
OMG, so many of the latest styles. Check out some of my faves below:

9. Mad about plaid
Stay warm and stylish with a great plaid flannel button-up.

And a few photos from the dressing room:
