Five Fashionable Plus Size Coats to Try This Fall

For many of us, the weather is finally starting to get cooler, and it finally feels like fall. Now is a great time to find the perfect coat to keep you warm and feeling fashionable through the fall and winter seasons. I’ve been doing some online browsing to check out the latest coat styles and trends for this year. I found some fantastic coats that I think you’re really going to love. Whether you’re getting all dressed up or just going out for a casual shopping day, these versatile designs will compliment your outfit perfectly.

1. The Dress Coat
The Ulla Popkin dress coat is a fresh take on the classic camel colored coat we’ve seen over and over. This coat features a unique assymetrical collar and three button closure. It’s such a great length, and it can instantly turn a look from drab to fab.

Where to Shop for Wide Calf Boots

I love boot season! I have been doing some browsing/shopping for new boots online and in store, and I must say I have been soooo surprised by how many retailers are FINALLY carrying wide calf boots! From Walmart and Payless to Naturalizer and Bloomingdale's, I have been able to find wide calf boots all over the place. This is so exciting because I've always had trouble finding great boots that fit my wider calves. I thought I would share with you guys some tips for shopping for the perfect wide calf boots, and also, provide a list filled with retailers who are currently selling wide calf boots. Check it out:

How to shop for wide calf boots:
  • Measure the widest part of the calf. (Measure both legs to help get an accurate size.)
  • Also, note whether or not you have wide width feet too.
  • When shopping, always be aware of the difference between wide width and wide calf. Wide width refers to the foot, and wide calf refers to the leg.
  • When checking websites, ALWAYS look for size measurement descriptions or size charts to help determine if the boot will fit you.
  • Before going to the store, check online to see what wide calf boots they have available, and what sizes they fit. This can save some frustration if you know ahead of time what will fit and what won't.

OR Try these ideas:
  • Some sites sell extra wide and super wide calf boots.
  • If you still have no luck, you may want to try getting a custom made pair of boots to fit you perfectly. These may be pricier, but they are usually so well made. They are sure to fit like glove, so they are definitely well worth it.
  • A more affordable option for custom made boots may be purchasing a pair of boots that you like and having extra panels or elastic/stretchy panels sewn into the boot so that it will fit.

My Five Fall Fashion Must-Haves

The weather is finally getting cooler and it seems fall is finally here to stay! I’m so excited to finally move on to a new season of fashion, especially a season where I get to wear some of my absolute favorite styles. From soft sweaters and riding boots to cozy, comfy pajamas, I’m totally ready for it all!

To further get us all in the mood for fall, I thought I would share five of my fall fashion must-haves.

1. Wide Calf Boots
It’s boot season, and every gal needs a good, comfortable pair of riding boots to wear with skinny jeans, leggings and dresses. Choosing a neutral color is great because they will work with pretty much anything and everything you wear this fall.

2.  Sweaters, Sweaters, Sweaters
Sweaters are a fall staple, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. I love finding sweaters with fun graphics or unique embellishments that show off my personal style while keeping me warm.

3.  Cozy, Comfy Pajamas

There is nothing better than curling up in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa, a good book and a pair of cozy, comfy pajamas. I love fabrics that are soft to the touch and able to keep me warm on those cool fall nights. Flannel, jersey and cotton are my faves!

Comfy Fall Plus Size OOTD

OMG I'm wearing pants! It's a rare occasion, I know. The first time I tried these crossover pants on at Dots, I just couldn't believe how comfortable they were and what a great fit they were. The length is perfect, they are comfy, not too bulky, and they have no zippers or buttons. LOVE!

I just wanted a comfy Fall Sunday outfit, so I paired these pants with a tshirt and a cardigan. I added some flats and a hat, and I was all set! I'm still carrying around my fave studded bag too, of course. I still can't believe it was under $30. Score!

Outfit Details:
Tshirt: Forever 21+
Cardigan: Forever 21+
Pants: Dots
Shoes: Marc Jacobs
Bag: Dots
Hat: NY & Co.

Weekend look- Lunch date with my honey

Saturday was such a beautiful, sunny summer day, so my hubby and I decided to go enjoy our city a little and have a date. As with most of my looks, I like to show my style and still be very comfy. I knew we would be doing some walking, so I chose this cute and comfy animal print maxi dress from Target that I have been loving for a few years now. I thought it would look great with these Fiji sandals from Orthaheel. I was definitely thankful for these sandals after all of the walking we did. I loved the look of them and how they made my feet happy all day. These sandals are designed to help relieve back pain, leg pain, heel pain and knee pain, so they will definitely be my go-to summer sandals for the rest of the season. I also love, love, love the beautiful beaded accents on these sandals. I accessorized with a mix of bright colors and neutrals to bring it all together. This also gave me the chance to carry my new JustFab bag that I'm in love with!

The look:
Dress: Target
Cardigan: Target
Belt: ASOS Curve
Necklace: Target
Sandals: Orthaheel
Bracelet: Forever 21
Sunnies: Forever 21
Bag: JustFab
Earrings: Kate Young for Target

Here are a few photos we took during the day. We had lunch at a grilled cheese restaurant and walking around enjoying the sights and shops on Bardstown Road, here in Louisville. So much fun!

I am also entering this look into a contest on Pinterest. I would looooooooove for you guys to click here and repin this look! Thanks for the support!

xo,
Leslie

Plus Size Swimsuit Shopping: swimsuitsforall.com

I ordered some new swimsuits for my upcoming vacay! I really fell in love with these styles, and the prices were awesome, so I had to get them! I love the coverage of a skirt (no wedgie worries here! lol) and nice thick halter straps for added support and comfort. They really help take some of the weight and stress off of the back. To learn more about my online shopping experience and the swimsuits I bought, check out my haul/review video about swimsuitsforall.com below:

Plus Size OOTD: Black and White

OOTD:
Tuxedo Jacket:  JC Penney
Tank: JC Penney
Jeans: Target
Shoes: Rock & Republic
Clutch: Target
Bracelets: Dots

Love these shoes! I was browsing around online one day and spotted these pumps. It was love at first sight, of course. I was lucky enough to get these on sale for $34.99. They were originally $74.99. I love all of the embellishments, and I love that these don't have a platform!

I love this outfit because it is basically just a tank top and jeans, but dressed up a little with the jacket and heels. It's still very comfy though! Comfort is really important to me when picking an outfit, and I try to find ways to show my style without losing comfort.

This clutch is from the new black and white collection at Target. They have so many gorgeous clutches and bags right now. I love them all, but I decided to take this one home with me!

See more of this outfit in the outfit of the day video below!

Plus Size OOTD- Holiday Dinner

Attended a late holiday dinner today. Sometimes it takes a while to get all of the family gatherings accomplished, right? Had such a wonderful time. Family is everything, and I cherish every moment spent laughing, making memories, and enjoying a special yummy meal, of course!

I wanted to wear a special dress, so I found this one at Forever 21+. It was right under $30. I love this dress because of the style and fit. This one is actually pretty roomy in the bust. I've had problems in the past with the bust area in some F21+ dresses. This one is great, and the material of the dress is stretchy! Y'all know I love a good, stretchy fabric!!! Hope you have been enjoying your holiday season.

Dress: Forever 21+ (You can find it here.)
Shoes: NY&Co.
Headband: NY&Co.
Shrug: Dots
Tights: Curvation (At Kmart...my absolute fave, highly recommend!)
