Plus Size OOTD + Review: IGIGI Esther Dress in Sundance

 

I have been in love with this dress since the first time I saw it in an IGIGI lookbook. Yellow is my fave color, so naturally I was drawn to this one. Other than the color, there were so many other design details that made me so excited about this dress, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

This is the Esther dress in Sundance by IGIGI. It features a bold yellow top with a sweetheart neckline and pleating and a beautiful black, white and yellow floral a-line skirt that hits below the knees. Between the yellow top and the floral bottom is a contrasting black waistband with a self-tie front. I love the design of the waistband and how it just hangs perfectly in place at the center of the dress.

Another thing that I absolutely love about this dress is... IT HAS POCKETS! I love dresses with pockets. The pockets are well designed and don't stick out, so they aren't super noticeable...I love that!

Yay pockets! Also, in this image you can see the beautiful ruching detail located on the shoulder and sleeve areas. I think the ruching and pleats are such a great design combo! I love all the little extra touches this dress features.

Above, you can see how the floral skirt flares out, and oh my goodness, it is spectacular! I love the comfortable, spacious design of this skirt. I think I could live in it all day, every day and be perfectly content! It's surprisingly lightweight also, so it's perfect for summer.

The back view features a clean design with the yellow top, black waistband and floral bottom.

The design, along with the fabrics used in this dress, make it such a beautiful, effortless look to wear. I can see myself being able to wear this dress to so many different events and functions. It's comfortable enough for an every day look, nice enough to wear to work or to dinner, and even a great dress for a summer party or wedding.

For this particular ootd, I paired the Esther dress with a pair of strappy black wedges from MIA and a gold necklace with black stones. I also chose a black and gold bag, as pictured a few pics up in this post.

Plus Size OOTD: Pink Clove Lara Scuba Skater Dress in Rose Berry

Pink Clove is definitely one of my favorite brands right now, so I am definitely beyond happy to see pieces from the brand popping up on the Gwynnie Bee site! I find their clothes to be stylish and incredibly comfortable.

My most recent Pink Clove piece is this fab little dress, the Lara scuba skater dress in rose berry. I love the purple and pink floral print against the black background.

This dress has a great skater style design, roomy sleeves and a v-neck in the front and back.

I added my own belt to the dress. The dress had belt loops, but did not arrive with a belt from Gwynnie Bee. No big deal, I have lots of belts lying around. 

I added some simple black wedges from Payless and a few pieces of jewelry. I also decided to add my favorite purple hair flower from Cherry Velvet to complete the look.

If you haven't tried Pink Clove, I highly recommend them. I have been so happy with everything I have tried. Plus, their clothing is quite affordable! You can shop their styles on their website or give some of their pieces a try through Gwynnie Bee.

OOTD & Review: Black Boot Cut PajamaJeans

If you've been following my blog for a while, then you probably know that I'm not a jeans girl at all. I have always had the worst luck with jeans, and I have always found them to be so uncomfortable. Comfort is key with my own personal style. If I'm not comfortable in something, then I'm not going to wear it, so I've just pretty much said no to jeans for years now. However, I do love a good pair of leggings, jeggings, or a pair of pants that has a little stretch in the material.

With this in mind, naturally, I thought PajamaJeans would be a match made in heaven for me. Something that looks like jeans, but feels like pajamas...um, yes, please! I'll take one of each lol! I had seen this before, but I had never tried them until recently. I wasn't familiar with all of the great styles and colors they offer, or even the size range available. Their size range includes plus size jeans, and they are affordable! This made me so excited.

After looking through the different styles of the website, I decided to select the boot cut style PajamaJeans in black for review. The boot cut trend is back, and super popular right now. I have never liked how regular boot cut jeans look on me, so I was curious about how the boot cut PajamaJeans would look. I was hoping they would give me the look and feel that I had been looking for.  So...trying a new product in a cut that I don't normally wear...I thought, this could either be amazing or an absolute disaster lol.

When they arrived, I was so excited to see what they would be like. They were just as I pictured in my mind...they look like boot cut jeans,have the same sort of accents and pockets like regular jeans do, and they even have a faux zipper cover on the front, but they are made out of a super soft, comfy material. They even have a hidden drawstring on the inner side of the waistband, so this is not noticeable when wearing. They kind of remind me of jeggings, but made of a much better quality and design and a thicker material.

I worried they would be too long for me, since I'm only 5'1". I just added some of my favorite wedges for a few extra inches and these worked out perfectly. As far as the sizing, these are very true to size according to their size chart measurements.

The overall fit of these was so much better than any other boot cut jeans I have tried in the past. I feel like all the ones I have tried before always got the leg sizing off and just didn't look the way I wanted them too because they always seemed to wide. However, the PajamaJeans boot cut jeans gave just the look I was going for.  The design and cut looked great, and I love how the jeans tapered and flared just the right amount at the perfect spots. I love pants with stretch because a lot of times they really give that look of a more custom fit than pants with no stretch do. They are just able to fit like a glove.

As mentioned earlier, these have back pockets, and they also have that fab contrast stitching that really make them look like regular jeans. They have the look, but definitely not the uncomfortable feel of regular jeans, thank goodness. After wearing these all day long, I wasn't in a rush to run home and change into something else because these were perfectly comfortable for lounging too.

Overall, I was really impressed with these. They fit well with my style and the comfort level I am looking for when it comes to clothing. I will say, there was some stretching in the pants after wearing and sitting in them for hours, but that happens with regular jeans too, so I can't really call it a downside. They just lost shape a little bit, but after a wash, they were back to the exact shape they had before.  Also, with washing these, it is recommended to wash before wearing these the first time to prevent any color transfer that may occur, so keep that in mind.

Casual Plus Size OOTD: Boyfriend Jeans

Yesterday, I just wanted to be casual and comfortable, so I  went through my closet searching for some of my fave comfort pieces. I decided on my new fave tshirt from ASOS Curve, some ripped boyfriend jeans and my red and black sheer plaid shirt. I have worn these pieces before with other outfits, but I had never put them together as an outfit. I love finding ways to mix pieces together to create new looks.

  

This outfit reminds me of my childhood as a 90's kid too, so of course, that makes me love it even more. I am sure the Nothing To Wear tshirt will have many more appearances on my blog since I can't get enough of it.

 

I rolled the jeans up since it was a warm, sunny day. They work perfectly for spring. I decided to wear my fave wedges because I love the strappy design of the shoes and they are so incredibly comfortable to walk in.

I also added my fave fringe bag, a tattoo choker and new clear sunglasses to complete the look. I love the mirror style lenses in these!

Plus Size OOTD: Floral Cut Out Cardi and Peach Dress

I have been wanting to wearing this floral cut out cardi for a few weeks, but I couldn't quite get the right outfit combo together. I wish I could take credit for styling this, but truth is, I had a little help! I asked one of my fave gals at Dress & Dwell what she would recommend. She recommended a light color top or dress, like a peach or coral, and I am so glad she did! I usually go for contrasting colors and patterns, so this wasn't an idea I had even considered. Sometimes it is definitely a good idea to ask for help!

I love the softness of this look, and the colors are perfect for a spring Saturday look. I have had this tank dress since last year. I found it in the junior's section at Target. Target always has the cutest little basic dresses in the spring and summer time. I am always checking for new arrivals!

I also have really been wanting to wear these strappy brown sandals that I found at Cato Fashions recently. Their shoes are always so comfy and affordable! I love the chunky heel on these because it makes them more comfy and easier to walk in. I think chunky heels are super cute!

For jewelry, I decided on a couple of interesting pieces. This colorful statement necklace is also from Dress & Dwell. It mixes so well with the light colors of the dress and cardigan. My light green sunglasses are just an inexpensive pair I picked up from Forever 21 last year.

The gold handchain I'm wearing is also from Forever 21. It is accented with rhinestones and turquoise stones. It's a fun, refreshing change from the norm.
